Runes for the Future — How to Use Runes to Foretell the Next 3, 6, or 12 Months

Runes serve as a bridge to the spiritual world, revealing trends, energies, and directions. They never depict a 'fixed future' since free will always prevails, but they offer a map of your emotional landscape.

**3-RUNE SPREAD (NORNS)**: Draw 3 runes that represent Urd (the past — what led you here), Verdandi (the present — where you are), Skuld (the future — what will happen). This is the simplest and most commonly used method in Norse divination.

**12-MONTH SPREAD**: Draw 12 runes, each representing the upcoming month. First, formulate your question: 'What awaits me in the coming year in the sphere of X (love/work/health)?' Shuffle while focusing your energy, then draw them in sequence, arranging them in a circle.

**INTERPRETATION**: Darker runes (Hagalaz, Nauthiz, Isa, Thurisaz) in specific months are NOT a sentence — they serve as warnings, highlighting what to pay attention to. Lighter runes (Sowilo, Wunjo, Dagaz) in others indicate when to make significant decisions.

**THE MOST POWERFUL RUNE**: If DAGAZ appears — a lasting transformation and awakening are ahead. WYRD (the blank rune) signifies that something cannot be predicted. JERA indicates a just reward for your efforts, the harvest throughout the year.

**WHEN TO DIVINE**: During the new moon (for the upcoming cycle), Yule/Samhain (for the whole year), or on birthdays (for your personal year).
