Tarot card Temperance — Major Arcana 14

In short: Balance, healing, patience, alchemy.

Yes or no: YES, but slowly.

01

Meaning of Temperance

Temperance is about finding a balance between activity and passivity, about finding the golden mean between what seems to be extremely different.

It talks about finding Temperance in a person's thoughts and actions, thanks to which he gains self-control and internal discipline. This card indicates a person's sobriety and restraint. He can find balance provided that he properly selects and combines elements that may initially not fit together. Finding balance makes him stronger, and difficult experiences do not make him weaker, but only harden his personality.

02

Temperance in love

Temperance in love is a relationship that heals and calms down: after the storm comes harmony, after the crisis - deeper understanding. For singles - a calm, mature partner, a "doctor of the soul", often a person from a different culture or environment (mixing of elements). In a relationship: compromise, common rhythm, healthy boundaries with family and work. The card announces a long-distance relationship - without fireworks, but long-lasting.

03

Temperance in money and career

Financially, Temperance means balancing: budget, repayment of debts in installments, diversification, combining two sources of income. It favors professions combining fields (medicine + technology, art + business), work in health, dietetics, mediation. Tip: Don't do it all at once - a small, steady flow will build more than a big jump. A good time to save and organize your finances.

04

Temperance — yes or no?

Answer of Temperance: YES, but slowly. Moderately says yes, but at your own pace - it requires dosing, patience and mixing of ingredients. Haste will reverse the answer.

05

Shadow of the card: Temperance reversed

Temperance reversed is an imbalance: excess (work, food, stimulants, emotions) or deficiency (energy, money, attention). It indicates conflicts that cannot be resolved because the parties do not want to compromise; health problems from overload. In love: "too much" of one side - jealousy, control, sacrifice. In finances: overpaying, living from first to first, no plan. Lesson: Balance is not a state, it is an everyday practice.

06

Temperance as the card of the day

When Temperance appears as your card of the day, the theme is: Balance, healing, patience, alchemy. Notice where this energy shows up on its own — in a conversation, a decision, a mood — and ask yourself in the evening: “where was I like Temperance in the light today, and where in the shadow?”. For a closed question the card answers: YES, but slowly. In a three-card spread, Temperance in the past position describes the source of the situation, in the present its core, in the future the direction it is heading if nothing changes.
